Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and eGuys.Tech LTD ("eGuys", "we"), a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 14475865, registered office 14 Pinfold Road, Bushey, WD23 2DU, United Kingdom, for playing Legacy of the Ashen Dragon on the web at play.legacyoftheashendragon.com. By playing, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not play. How we handle data is in the privacy policy.

1. Who may play

You must be 18 or over, because the game has a dice table played for the game's gold, which counts as simulated gambling. The web game is free, and you need no licence, subscription or purchase to play it.

2. Your account and your recovery code

Your account is made the first time you join a season. It has no name, email address or password.
Your recovery code (on the Hero tab) is the only way back into your account on another device or browser, unless you linked a Google account in the web game. Write it down and keep it private: anyone with it can play your heroes or delete your account.
A lost code usually means a lost account. We cannot tell which account is yours, because it holds nothing about you, so we cannot restore it, unless you can still open the game on a device that is signed in, or you linked Google.
Nobody from eGuys will ever ask you for your recovery code.
One person, one account. Do not buy, sell, share or trade accounts or recovery codes.

3. Playing fair

Do not:

cheat, or use a bug or a weakness to gain an advantage. Please report it with the feedback button instead;
play with bots, scripts or other automation, or send requests to the game's server other than through the game;
use more than one account to gain an advantage, for example to pass gold to your own hero through duels;
try to reach other players' accounts, or guess recovery codes;
overload, attack or disrupt the game or its servers;
send abusive, unlawful or other people's personal content in bug reports.

Hero names are chosen from names the game generates, so there is little room for offensive names; if one reads badly, tell us with the feedback button.

4. Gold and items have no money value

Everything in the game, gold, items, honours and heroes included, exists only in the game. It has no value in money, and cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or cashed out, in the game or anywhere else. We do not sell anything in the game. Do not trade anything from the game for money or other value outside it.

The dice table at the realm's inns is a game of chance played for the game's gold only. Nothing real can be won or lost there, and on average the house comes out a little ahead. It is for a little fun at the end of a game day, not a way to earn anything.

5. Seasons and changes to the game

The realm runs in seasons of about three months, one each quarter. When a season ends, every hero's journey ends with it: the next season starts with new heroes. Honours from past seasons stay with your account.
We keep improving the game: we may change its rules, balance, content, look and features, or reset, lengthen or shorten a season, where needed to keep the game working and fair. We will say so in the game beforehand wherever we can.
We try to keep the game running, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of bugs (section 8). We may pause it for maintenance.
If we ever decide to close the game, we will say so in the game and on our website at least 60 days before it closes.

6. Ending your account

You can stop at any time, and delete your account and everything kept for it: Settings → Delete account in the game, or https://play.legacyoftheashendragon.com/delete-account with your recovery code. Deletion happens at once and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, in proportion to what happened (a warning, a hero's progress reset, or deletion). Where we can, we tell you in the game. You can ask us to review it by writing to support@legacyoftheashendragon.com with your hero's name.

7. The game belongs to us

The game, its world, text, narration, music, sounds, pictures and code belong to eGuys or to those who licensed them to us. You may play it for your own enjoyment. Do not copy, sell, rent or rebuild it, or take its content for other uses, except as the law allows.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve the game without owing you anything for them.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we provide the game "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive loss or damage, including lost profits or lost data, arising from or relating to your use of the game, even if we were told it might happen. That includes losing progress, heroes, gold or items in the game, for example through a bug, a season's end, an outage or a lost recovery code.

In any case, our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to these terms or the game is limited to whichever is greater: what you paid for the game in the 12 months before the claim (the price of an app, if you bought one; nothing for the web game, which is free), or £50.

What we never limit. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. If you are a consumer in the UK, the EU or the EEA, consumer law where you live may not allow some of the limits above; where it does not, our liability is limited only as far as that law allows. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Law and disputes

The law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to their rules on conflicts of law.

If you live in the UK, the EU or the EEA and play as a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of the place where you live (in the UK, that includes Scotland and Northern Ireland). Nothing in these terms takes away the protection that the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live gives you. The EU's online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025, so these terms do not link to it.

If you live anywhere else, the United States included, disputes go to the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory law where you live.

10. Changes to these terms

Each version is dated. If we change something that matters, we will tell you in the game at least 30 days before the change takes effect, in a notice at the top of the game that every player sees until they close it. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply; if you do not accept them, you can delete your account. Earlier versions stay readable on this website, each at its own address, and are listed under Earlier versions at the end of this page.
